Freaky Friday What's Up?
Good Morning OFF Family,
I was in bed really early last night, so I am up early. I have to go to get some repeat training, the same training I got three weeks ago, but condensed.
After the training, I will head up to see my Munchkins who got in late yesterday. Hopefully, Mom will let me babysit while she shops for their birthday party tomorrow evening. I also hope to receive a check I am expecting from the school district I worked for. It was supposed to have been sent yesterday.
This afternoon, I hope to watch the Phillies play Toronto in an afternoon match-up.
Hugs.
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Good morning Trish & all,
Tom and I sat having morning coffee. Baxter on my lap, chewing my fingers, Annie was perched on Tom's shoulders, circling his head. Such a good way to start our day.
Amanda, 19 year old grand, is coming to spend the weekend. That means stocking up on FOOD and goodies. Tonight we will go to see fireworks, tomorrow she and I will shop till we drop. It is fun to have an older grand here.
I finally saw my PCP to see about the dizzys. He did a thorough exam and feels that the arthritis in my neck is causing the vertigo. What a relief, I thought it might be a brain tumor.
He also said to stop taking Omeprazol. For one thing, it might add to the dizzines, but he said it blocks the absorption of Calcium. With the bone loss, it is not good for me.
My BP is running low too but that's not unusual for WLS people. Better than sky high like it was 5 years ago.
Time to hit the shower, eat, take supplements and go to work.
Kisses

Annette,
Sounds like you're going to have to teach Baxter the "no bite" command! Had to do that with Patty Kate. Now she will only "mouth" my hand when I've been gone for awhile and she wants to reassure herself that I'm really back. LOL! Little dogs are so funny.
I had that vertigo once and it was no fun. Hope it clears up for you.
Have a grand time with your granddaughter!

Good morning Trish & all to come....happy Friday, July 1st!! Can you believe it's July already??!!! It seems just like a few days ago we were all discussing how cold it was and the snow we got...lol. Now it's discussion of rain or lack thereof, and hot sunny days. It's a bit nippy here this morning. Had to wear my hoodie on our morning route. Felt warm & cozy.
Yesterday was a busy day but fun. My DH, daughter, sister, furbabies, & I rode to the bank for some cash(seems we never have any cash on us) and then rode out to the country to a place where this family grows & sells their own fruit & vegetables. The have the best NC corn around!! My first time there but DH has been many times in the yrs. gone by. We bought lots of corn and came home, shulked it, blanched it and filled our freezer. Left enough out for dinner last night and oh my goodness, talk about yummy!! We also bought some fresh peaches and a watermelon, squash, red potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes...I think that's all. I'm going to take some of those peaches, slice them up, cook them down with some splenda, and top them off with cool whip(sf) once they've cooled down. Something different. I love fresh vegetables & fruits...nothing like it.
Then we went grocery shopping. I think we bought out the store...lol. We were out of everything so we needed everything. So now the cubbards and freezers are full, we have ribs to go into the smoker on Monday, our watermelon, going to make some deviled eggs, and of course, corn....and then watch some movies. We don't do the fireworks thing because Rachael, my special needs daughter who has Downs & Autism can't handle the noise. Also, the furbabies get all upset and I don't want to leave them alone either....so I'll rent a couple of family movies for us.
I read in the newspaper last night that one of local churches is having their yearly musical production. They have 2 a year, one @ Christmas and one for the 4th of July. It's awesome!! The guy who directs this musical is so talented and ask for any church members from any other church who want to help out to come join them so the choir ends up huge. We've decided as a family we're going to hear that. Can't wait.
Well, I've rambled enough about us.....Tri**** sounds like you're going to have an awesome day, one filled with the grands. Mine live approx. 600 miles away so I don't get to see them very often. Enjoy your babies and get lots of hugs & kisses to last until the next time you see them. I hope the little jumpsuit fits now that you moved the snaps on them.
I'm hoping Grammylew is feeling better!! Those that are away on vacation or for the weekend, I'm hoing you're having a blast and being safe. Can't wait to hear about your trips!!
Monica, I sure hope you received some good news like in the form of a check from SS. Can't wait until that SS card issue gets resolved for you. I totally understand not having important things in order....causes lots of unnecessary stress.
I hope everyone has a nice Friday!!

Wow, you sound great and sure had some good fun with family. I wish I could eat highly colored fruits, but can't...they cause really bad abdominal cramps. I will get lots of fresh veggies today and then cook them up with Italian spices, portion out and freeze in small bags. I take them out and defrost, and enjoy.
Thanks for you continued support in my quest for SS card. Appreciate you and all of the sistah's here on OFF.

Morning all, sober 242 days and so proud of me.
Trish, more training ugh. Hope the toes are better, enjoy the Gkids. Carla glad you decided to stay in FL than travel to Chicago...too many toxic family there for you to deal with. Annette, surrounded by furbaby's are too good. Already brushed Yoda all over, got kisses and hugs, yes he hugs our legs and feet. He had fun checking his toys this morning. What a difference the teeth spray & gel have made to his teeth and gums. He came to us with dental plaque and BAD breath. The product was expensive but we have lots left and only use it 3x a week now. Sounds like Baxter has fit in well. But I bet the cats still rule.
Busy day for us. Payday, shopping, blood work. I went for my blood work yesterday, dreading to hear the results. BP was down a little. Hubby happy with new non-VA doctor...got him an app with the new PCP I chose here. Doctor did not lecture about smoking, knows VA system, glad to be there if hubby needs emergent care since big VA hospital is so far away. Reviewed all meds, labs, talked about pain and PTSD, explained @ Cymbalta. We will discuss Cymbalta again with VA doctors...hard to get from VA, a real struggle, but could happen. Seems Cymbalta would replace his current anti-depressant, but it helps with body pain/muscular/?arthritis.
I wonder too about going to see fireworks. Yoda has not been happy with the Tstorms we have had. At first we thought they did not bother him, but realize they do. We so need the rain here and since it has been such a storm in the afternoon week, we see how he reacts.
Got my official notice that my SS check will arrive in mail today. But no SS reissued card. Hoping this is just more PROOF, that I am who I am and NOT Popeye, the sailor man.
Checked out the store flyers and made my lists. Structured shopping needed with today's financial atmosphere.
Hoping all are going to have a peaceful, loving, fun, stressless, safe passage, save money on gas prices, Happy Birthday America, God Bless the USA weekend. Say the Pledge of Allegiance and review the Founding Fathers documents, the living Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Monica, I am on 60 mg Cymbalta and it has helped the pain somewhat; I started on 30 mg, then my doc (or nurse practitioner actually) upped it recently to 60. It has cut the pain level to about 1/3. I still have pain and some nights are worse than others, but I don't have to reach for the vicodin nearly as much. That's a good thing.
HAPPY CANADA DAY!
We are 144 years old today. We are a small country in terms of population, but we are fourth on the United Nations list of the top ten best countries to live in based on the quality of life. You should come up and visit us.
It's a national holiday for us, but since I am on vacation for the summer, I'm off anyway.
Not much new. I've gone back to aquatics and enjoyed it, but the exercise hurts my arthritic back. Can you believe it? This is the exercise that people do who can't do any other more harmful exercise. I've already modified some of the leg lifts (to the back) so that there is less back pain after the aquatics - now I'm not sure what to do. any suggestions? I'd love to stay with aquatics for the time being.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm a vegetarian, so there is no plan for a bbq on the weekend unless I bbq some vegetables. There will be fireworks tonight, which will scare my two big lugs to death. One on my G. shepherds will try to get on my lap once the festivities begin (across town!). They will do their best to hide under and behind the furniture in the living room - what silliness that is as neither one could fit under any piece of furniture, but that doesn't stop them from trying. One just came into my office to let me know that it is past breakfast time and that I'd better get to it! Love those dogs.
I am enjoying the locally grown strawberries and can't wait for the blueberries and peaches. I wish that I loved vegetables to the same extent that I love fruit, but no such luck. Have a fun weekend.
Margaret
